Cristina Hoyos at Lycabetus Hill Theater. For missgreensheep and her cheerful blog!
This is a bigger post, promised in Flickr. Some portraits, some rehearsals and some from the actual show.
These photos were meant to be part of a book with a conversation with Hoyos that never realized. Enjoy!

What beautiful postures and excellent pictures dear
Thank you! Much appreciated!
🙂
nice documentary 🙂
Thank you Joshi! Many photos on film back then. Some color ones that I haven’t yet scanned. A shame the book never realized…
Opa!
🙂 I really don’t know the equivalent of it in Spanish, but I guess if you know it they might as well!
Beautiful!
Thank you! It was amazing!
AWESOME PHOTOS!
Thank you man!

This is it! Feel that energy! You have captured a feast for the eyes and spirit. Must have been very special times for you to have been there with her. Very amazing Vassilis
Time may tell. Many book are made well after history is.
Thank you for re-blogging and your , as always, kind and encouraging words!
Very nice!!
Thank you !
So beautiful photos! Full of spirit! Thank you very much for the dedication, you sent me a lot of positive energy! 🙂
I thought a dance post would be appropriate for a miss! 😉 Glad you liked them!
Wanted to post a Video of her dancing later on today. Many people have never seen her dance before. Thought you may have one in mind? That would be great Vassilis
Might be wrong about that one. I have seen her before and this woman is one to see. Over and over again. Knowing you were behind the camera here Vassilis. That is living!

Very good document !! I love the Cristina’s portrait, her gaze is impressive.
Thank you Carlos!
The posture… the dance… the passion… her piercing gaze… her vanity… your photography… Just awesome!!
I don’t know about vanity. She had done this a thousand times, knew how to pose and the purpose of it. But yes, she is a wonderful artist!
such strong women!
She really was!
beautiful! I was looking for my castanets!!
Thank you! Once you find them I will pick up my guitar and play! We only need the dancers! 😉
sounds great! and whew – the pictures show this ART so well!
and the variety (yet again) added to the feel – like the shot with all those white seats, and the security guard (I think) sitting there and then the dancer to the left – whew – rich! but all pics fit so well together
now let’s see…. where are those castanets….. 😉
She is really great. The book was supposed to have an in depth interview (actually I went to photograph her with the man who took the interview, but the deal went bad with the publisher, so no pay either) and I was so amazed by her personality that I asked to stay and photograph both the rehearsals and the show! She said yes! Unfortunately I was not prepared for the lights of the show, my films were slow (both b&w and color-not in the digital age yet…) , but the rehearsals were in broad daylight. And since I had fulfilled my portrait -taking job, I was feeling quite free with the composition of the photos. So you get many white seats in the frames, plus a security guy! I was familiar with the theater, but to see it all empty and being able to move around freely and take photos from various angles was something great! And I am glad it shows on the photos! Thank you for your comments. Much needed injections of hope and humor!
thanks for the reply – and wow – hearing the “behind the pictures” data adds even more. Too bad the deal went bad – but if it led to all these raw shots- well I’d say the outcome was appointed – and was worth possibly more –
Have a great week….
